Product Development Process

Generally, the product begins with a need which is based on customer's and market's demands. From the idea conceptualization to the finalization of the product design, there are two main design stages, namely Conceptual Design and Detail Design. The usual practice, the design document will not pass to the manufacturing and marketing people and the detailed design will be well documented and released for manufacturing preparation.

a. Conceptual Design

The stage of conceptual design is trying to formulate the design concept and considering all design alternative. In this stage, different designs of the products are proposed that are based on the design specifications.

b. Detailed Design

The stage of detailed design is to finalize the design with detailed dimensions and manufacturing requirements such as surface finishing and tolerance.
